The WCD Department is running a programme of “Work Centres for Women” for imparting training in cutting and tailoring in resettlement colony under the 20 point programme of Prime Minister. There are 18 work centres all over Delhi out of which 5 centres have been recognized by the Department of Training and Technical Education for certificate course of one year.

Admission process: Sanctioned capacity of each Work Centre is approximately 50. Minimum age range for seeking admission in the certificate course of one year issued by Department of Training and Technical Education, Government of NCT of Delhi is 18 to 25 years and the educational qualification is 8th Pass (Middle).

For admission in certificate course of six month issued by Department of Women and Child Development, there is no fixed age or education criterions. Thus even a poor woman/girl can seek admission and learn the basics of cutting & tailoring in the Work Centers functional under the aegis of Department of Women and Child Development.

In certificate courses of six month the admission fee is of Rs. 2/- and monthly fee of Rs. 5/- per trainee and Rs. 10/- per month for students undergoing certificate course of one year. However Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled tribe candidates need not pay any fees except the admission fee of Rs 2/-.
